DRESS CODE – STANDARDIZED VERSION

Peace With Christ Christian School maintains a standardized dress code. “Knowing that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, we want to give Him only honor and glory with our appearance,” 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20. The manner of a person’s dress and appearance can affect his/her attitude toward learning and other people. This code is designed to reflect our witness and distinctiveness as a Christian and to encourage pride in one’s grooming. Since one factor by which our school is judged pertains to the appearance of the student body, our students should be concerned about the image they present. EXAMPLES

CHAPEL

Faith growth and nurture are a huge part of what we do here at Peace With Christ Christian School. One of the ways we do that is as part of our weekly chapel service. This is most easily identifiable as a little church service for our students in K-8th grade. Students will follow along and participate in a service that includes singing songs, scripture reading, and a message shared by one of our PWC staff. We collect weekly chapel offerings that are designated to support a local, state, national and world mission effort. Parents are always welcome to come to the weekly chapel service.

Twice a quarter students gather in what we call Faith Families to grow in school-wide relationships with other students. These “families” are made up of 15 students from across all grade levels led and facilitated by a staff member. The groups do activities that include team building, community service, and faith nurture.

SPIRIT WEAR

Peace With Christ partners with a vendor that offers spirit wear to our families. Orders are taken at the beginning of each school year with delivery in September then again in November with delivery in December before Christmas break. Items include t-shirts, hoodies, and fleece pullovers/fill-zip tops with school logo on them in either a screen printed or embroidered logo.

LUNCH PROGRAM

Peace With Christ Christian School provides a lunch program that offers meals for students five days a week when school is in session. The lunch provider operates under the company name of Fuel 4 Fitness, and the owner is Gary Eisman. As a former bodybuilder, nutrition and wellness have been a personal commitment of his. His program for schools, Cub Club Meals, offer healthy, nutritional meals that meet government regulated portions sizes and offerings. School families order meals on a monthly basis from the online service.

SAFETY PATROL

A Safety Patrol Program is available for students in Grades 5-8 to assist with arrival of students and assist the staff in directing traffic and helping students into cars at the afternoon car line.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Our Student Council includes students in 5th-8th grade who support student leadership, grow relationships, and building the Christian community throughout the school.

ATHLETICS

The purpose of the PWCCS Athletic Program is to: develop and promote growth physically, aesthetically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually; provide instruction in the basic skills and techniques of the game; provide a setting for promoting Christian attitudes about teamwork, leadership, competition, cooperation and sacrifice; and instill in all of our athletes a feeling of self-worth.

TECHNOLOGY

Developing 21st century skill sets is imperative for our students to compete in a global economy that demands innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration and creativity. Our aim is to engage students deeply in technology to develop broader skills, which extend beyond being able to use a computer to analyze the content and employing the right tools to tackle specific tasks and problems. All students in K-8 participate in a weekly Technology instruction class where tools are used to enhance keyboarding, an understanding of digital citizenship, coding, and cross-curricular projects. Chromebooks are used by students in the regular classroom as well as the Technology instruction class.
